FAQ

How do I get to Guatemala?
  • Guatemala City is a major airport, and has flights from all over. I find that LAX or Houston is the most common connecting flight. I will be in touch as I find good flights :)
How do I get to Antigua?
  • Once you land, Uber is super cheap and convenient. We also have a few connections to drivers and services that we are happy to book for you (not expensive). Expect to pay about $30-50 to make the hour trek from Guatemala City to Antigua.
How do I get around Antigua?
  • Walk! It's a UNESCO cobblestoned city, and it's super fun to walk. Streets are named 1-10 east to west, and also north to south, so you could be at the corner of 5th&5th. As mentioned, Uber is also cheap and convenient. Oh, catch a tuk tuk for a fun alternative! Are kids invited? 100%!
Can I bring my mom, cousin, weird best friend, dog? 100%! Give me some idea of the food situation.
  • Oh my goodness, we will come up with a list of excellent restaurants and cafes, but there is a lot of really good food there, and it's inexpensive.
Do you have any side quests you recommend?
  • We have many 1-5 day side quests for you. We will come up with a comprehensive list, but I wouldn't miss hiking up Pacaya volcano and roasting some marshmallows on the lava vents. Or checking out Hobbitenago, hillside tourist attraction based on the Hobbit. Also chocolate farms, coffee farms, and some longer ones like the amazing Lake Atitlan, and Monterrico for the black sand and pacific waves.
